Antique Beeb: STV's daytime deal

Meet David Barby and Anita Manning, familiar faces to viewers of daytime TV for their hit BBC show Antiques Road Trip.

The Beeb today commissioned a further four new series of the show from STV, effectively ITV in Scotland.

But while its daytime shows might be getting a boost, the company's failure to produce any new shows of its lucrative Taggart detective franchise for ITV prompted a loss for last year of £900,000.

One-off hits, including a big legal settlement with ITV, added up to £13.4 million. Seen as a good proxy for the ITV network, STV issued figures suggesting advertising revenues for ITV were running at about 8% below a year ago.
