Kim Winser, the former boss of Pringle of Scotland, Aquascutum and Agent Provocateur, will launch her latest fashion business in the US this month.

She has agreed a deal with former banker Jan Niemi who runs retailer Flats Napa Valley in California.

Winser, who launched her fashion house Winser London in 2013 with backing from Asian investors, already sells the brand online and in six John Lewis stores, three Harvey Nichols outlets and Rossiters of Bath.

The deal in California is her second overseas outlet. Earlier this year, she agreed to sell her collection at the Galleria department store in South Korea.

Her strategy is to sell the brand via her website and in a select number of retailers globally rather than open her own stores.

Winser said: “In this digital world, all you need to do is touch the first people and via social media and word of mouth it spreads.”

She will travel to Flats Napa Valley in Saint Helena, California, to launch the collection there this month and is in talks with retailers in Paris and Moscow to do similar joint ventures.

The brand, fronted by supermodel Yasmin Le Bon and popular with the likes of actress Emma Watson, has seen sales double in its half year to August compared to the same period last year.

Winser will also launch a trunk show — a type of pop up sale — in London later this month to coincide with London Fashion Week.
