The company behind commuter crack Candy Crush Saga led the advance of media tech businesses into the West End office market last month.

King Digital Entertainment signing for nearly 65,000 square feet at the Ampersand Building in Soho was among the biggest letting deals in central London in August, said BNP Paribas Real Estate.

Media tech companies accounted for a quarter of the 1.8 million square feet of West End deals signed in the first eight months of 2015.

Momentum has continued into September, with Facebook taking 200,000 square feet at Rathbone Square near Oxford Street.

David Herzog, senior director at BNP Paribas Real Estate said: “These deals highlight the West End’s enduring appeal to established Media Tech firms.

“The sector continues to drive West End demand.”

The property agent has also calculated that 836,000 sq ft of office space is under offer, a figure 67% ahead of average levels.
