Cannabidiol brand Love Hemp today said demand for natural health remedies had surged during the pandemic as people look for help with anxiety or sleep disorders.

The London-based business reported a 57% jump in sales in July over the previous month, with online demand significantly higher than pre-Covid levels. CBD or cannabidiol is a substance extracted from the cannabis plant.

CEO Tony Calamita said: “What we have witnessed is an increased consumption of CBD during the pandemic, and we expect this to continue post-Covid.

“We believe that people who continue to feel anxious or have trouble sleeping are increasingly turning to more natural health and wellness solutions to add to their self-care routines.”

He added that the recent growth highlighted the company's progress in destigmatising CBD consumption.

Love Hemp is owned by World High Life, which makes investments and acquires companies operating within the legal medicinal cannabis, hemp and CBD industries.
