A Lonely Place To Die - review

10 April 2012

There are two big questions at the heart of Julian Gilbey's hiking thriller, which he co-wrote.

How much is a child's life worth and are some children more worthy of rescue than others?

Five mountaineers, off for some challenging fun in the Scottish Highlands, discover a small girl in an underground box. This should be the start of a collective nightmare.

Unfortunately, our director is addicted to Dramatic Music and Dramatic Slo-mo Shots.

Meanwhile, pretty leading lady, American Melissa George, has a Dramatic Pout. Come hell or high mountain, these three elements drain the tension from every potentially gripping encounter. I almost died laughing.
