Freestyle tries to transcend stereotypes

10 April 2012

The central characters of this naive, if sincere, movie are a private school student (Lucy Konadu) who is trying for Oxford and a basketball ace from the local estate (Arinze Kene) who is attempting to get through A-levels.

Directed by Kolton Lee, Freestyle tries to transcend stereotypes - but it's too soft-centred.

Kene, however, is clearly a find - the basketball scenes are so fun, you want to go along with it all.
