10 April 2012

Film funnyman Jack Black put on a royal performance at his new premiere.

Black was in town with Kyle Gass, his partner in spoof rock band Tenacious D.

Their film, Tenacious D: In The Pick of Destiny, tells the story of their journey to rock'n'roll greatness.

The duo attended the premiere in London's Leicester Square in full royal regalia of crowns, sceptres and ermine cloaks.

"Kyle is the king of rock, I'm the king of roll," said Black, star of School of Rock and Shallow Hal.

Gass added: "We've come to take the crown away from the Windsors.

"They've had it long enough and they've bungled the job."

The movie features cameos from Meat Loaf, Ben Stiller and Tim Robbins.

Gass described it as "the finest motion picture in the history of film".

Stars at the premiere included Justin Hawkins, making his first public appearance since quitting The Darkness.

Hawkins recently confessed to blowing more than £150,000 on cocaine over the past three years.
He was admitted to The Priory rehab clinic to battle his addictions to drink and drugs.
