There is no toilet humour in Disney's Prom

10 April 2012

There's a cast-iron virgin without a Prom date, a bad boy who hates Proms, a nerd who can't get anyone to partner him and several other clueless teens in Joe Nussbaum's movie about the High School high spot.

It's made by Disney so nothing really untoward happens and there isn't a single toilet joke.

Instead, we have romance flowering or being dashed, a school where no one appears to be doing any coherent work and a Prom which brings the whole messy thing towards its feelgood finish.

No doubt we'll see more of Aimee Teegarden, Thomas McDonell and Nicholas Braun before long since they look good and act as if they know the rudiments.

Meanwhile eat your hearts out all those who never experienced the emotional thrills and spills of the Big Day.
