Summer spectacular: Liverpool International Music Festival will charge for tickets for the first time

Liverpool International Music Festival has announced its first wave of acts for 2018.

The festival welcomed over 120,000 to its Sefton Park site last year and takes place between July 21 and 22 this summer.

Example & DJ Wire, Wiley, Stefflon Don and Jax Jones will all perform on the Saturday night of the festival, while Haçienda Classiçal will headline the Sunday night.

Basement Jaxx, Aurora, Young Fathers, Rae Morris, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Trevor Nelson, Gilles Peterson and Jazzie B will also perform.

The news also coincides with the announcement that the previously free festival will charge entry fees for the first time this year.

Festival organisers will fence off the site and charge £5 for a daily pass per person, plus £15 for VIP passes. Children under 11 go free.
