Clearing up the studio after releasing their fifth album at the end of August, Beach House have found a sixth down the back of the sofa. Thank Your Lucky Stars is still their familiar slow motion music, but produced quickly this time. It’s out today, and you can stream a few of the new songs at the band’s official website.

A forthcoming album of Disney cover versions, We Love Disney, might have its moments given that the tracklist includes credible artists such as Kacey Musgraves and Gwen Stefani. Jessie Ware could appeal too, but plays it very straight on a string-drenched version of Cinderella’s A Dream is a Wish.

After Ware, the latest synth-soul lady is Rosie Lowe, setting herself up for next year’s tip lists with a debut album coming in February on influential producer Paul Epworth’s label, and a smooth new single, Worry ‘Bout Us, on YouTube this week.

The 1975’s fevered fanbase got a shock this week with the first song from the band’s second album. Love Me is a jerky funk number with lots of cowbell and a surreal synth solo to finish. It’s on Spotify now.

Those who are missing both The Streets and Burial ought to have a go on the debut album from London band Real Lies, out today. Real Life features a troubled man talking over moody late night dance music, as demonstrated on the new singles Blackmarket Blues.
