Caroline Sheen is set to return to 9 to 5 the Musical, replacing Louise Redknapp.

The actress will be back in the role of Violet Newstead on the Savoy Theatre stage from July 4.

Sheen originally stepped in with just two weeks notice after an injury forced Redknapp to postpone her start in the show. She learned the show in just three days.

She stars alongside Amber Davies, Natalie McQueen, Bonnie Langford and Brian Conley, who continue on in the production until August 31.

Sheen’s previous West End stage credits include Les Miserables, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the Witches of Eastwick. She also played the title role in the UK and US tours of Mary Poppins.

The musical, written by Patricia Resnick with music and lyrics from Dolly Parton, opened in February. Based on the 1980 film of the same name, it tells the story of three colleagues who, pushed to extremes by their sexist boss, decide to turn the tables and plan a kidnapping.

9 to 5 the Musical runs at the Savoy Theatre until April 2020.
