Would you Adam and Eve it

10 April 2012

Crunch is one of those shows that gets wildly praised in Edinburgh and then, on arrival here, makes everyone wonder what the fuss was about.

There's a certain zany charm to Daniel Goldman's story of Adam and Eve working in the Fruit Naming Department of Eden Enterprises, but also a rather desperate sense of oddly bewigged actors going bonkers on daytime television educational programmes.

A and E take a quick trip, with songs, through some of the apple's starring moments in history - Newton, William Tell and, er, Snow White - although it's hard to escape the sense that a decent idea has turned into an uninspiring rumble in the crumble.

Mojo Mickybo, until 14 April (020 7503 1646). Crunch, until 14 April, then at Croydon Warehouse (0870 060 1742).
