Marvel fans who have seen Avengers: Age of Ultron are already desperate to see the big-screen super-heroes alongside each other again, and they won’t have long to wait.

Next year’s Captain America: Civil War might be titled after Chris Evans’ super-soldier, but plenty of other Marvel characters will also be involved. Now, as production on the film has begun at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, we’ve learned that Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man will be among them.

The reveal comes in a statement from Marvel Studios, which reads: “After his debut in Marvel’s Ant-Man on July 17, 2015, Paul Rudd will make his first appearance alongside the Avengers as Scott Lang/Ant-Man in Captain America: Civil War.”

Fans have long-speculated what Lang’s next appearance in the series would be after his debut this summer, with this news being the first indication that we will see Ant-Man again ahead of Avengers: Infinity War - Part I in 2018.

The Civil War storyline originated in the Marvel comic books, and involved the majority of their superheroes – accordingly, the cast for Captain America: Civil War is huge. As well as Cap, the film will feature Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), The Vision (Paul Bettany), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), War Machine (Don Cheadle), and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).

It will also introduce Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), who’s set to have his own film in 2018, as well as a recently-announced mystery role for Martin Freeman.

Here’s the film’s official synopsis: “Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.”

Captain America: Civil War arrives on April 29, 2016
