Bear Grylls’ celebrity series Mission Survive looks like no picnic – after Neil Morrissey cracked under the pressure last week, the fourth episode sees more intense survival situations.
If drinking water drained from elephant poo wasn’t bad enough (apparently it tastes like green tea), a task on a deadly cliff face saw Michelle Collins put herself in danger.
The EastEnders actress inadvertently unclipped both of her karabiners while traversing the pinnacle rock in South Africa.
“I really don’t like this,” Collins said as she worked her way along a rope on the sheer cliff face.
When questioned about her security, she said: “Clip in? I’ve just clipped in.”
“No, they’re not clipped,” claimed Bear as he rushed in to make sure that Collins was safely attached to the rope.
“Who’s holding me?” Collins asked, as her feet slipped from the rocky ledge.
Luckily, with Bear’s help, Collins was secured onto the rope again and managed to complete the climb.
“Michelle, there was a point on there where you were totally unclipped, hanging off a long old drop,” Bear said once the trial was over.

Praising the star for her reaction to the potentially deadly situation, he added: “You held your nerve, you did it. Look at me though – never unclip from the line.”
Addressing the group at the end of the mission, Grylls one again praised the actress’ “raw courage”.
“What I care about more is that when you knew you were in trouble and I said, ‘Michelle, do not let go’, you didn’t let go,” he said. “That tells me more about you in that one moment than I’ve seen from you in this whole journey.”
