Get ready, everyone: Britain’s Got Talent is coming back to ITV very soon.

The first trailer for the new series of the surprise-filled competition is here, and the judges are promising a ‘Cinderella story’ for the lucky winner.

The one-minute clip follows various fairytale tropes, with David Walliams, Amanda Holden, and Alesha Dixon donning lavish and OTT costumes. Simon Cowell, of course, keeps it simple in his trademark black crew-neck t-shirt.

While it could just be a few examples of the sheer variety of acts that the show attracts, the trailer hints that we’ll see “a bus driver” and “a group of dinner ladies” take part this year.

A statement from ITV says: “The new series returns to ITV in the coming weeks, where viewers will once more be amazed and astounded by a remarkable line-up of acts, one of whom will go on to be crowned the 10th winner of Britain’s Got Talent, getting their happily ever after…”

The series continues to prove popular with viewers, though last year’s winner – Jules O’Dwyer and her dog Matisse – saw controversy arise over the use of an additional ‘stunt dog’ in their final routine.

Ofcom later ruled that voters were ‘misled’ by the way the act was presentation, and ITV offered refunds to those who voted.
