Celebrity MasterChef 2016: did BBC Breakfast just accidentally leak the winner of the series?

A on-air mishap might have just revealed this year’s champion - POTENTIAL SPOILERS

The new series of Celebrity MasterChef is only two weeks in, but someone might have already let a huge spoiler slip.

If it wasn’t bad enough that Blue singer Simon Webbe revealed he crashed out in last week’s second round of heats before it had aired, this is a much bigger reveal.

The winner of the entire series could already be out there thanks to BBC Breakfast presenter Ore Oduba.

In a segment on the morning show, Oduba was speaking to chef Gary Parsons in a Wimbledon kitchen, and blurted out what might be a huge spoiler.

Just in case Oduba was correct, look away now if you don’t want to know the name.

“What we need here really is Louise Minchin, the MasterChef champion,” Oduba said.

Minchin is due to take part in this week’s third round of heats, though none of her scenes have currently aired.

There are two weeks of heats still to go, before the semi-finals begin – here’s hoping the tension over the winner hasn’t already been deflated.

So far, Radio 4 presenter Reverend Richard Coles, former rugby player Neil Back, TV presenter Alexis Conran, and comedian Tommy Cannon have made it through into the semis.

The third heats begin later this week on Wednesday, 6 July.
