The Love Island contestants have been left reeling by Adam Collard’s cliff-hanger decision in the second episode of the show.

One male islander is left out in the cold on Tuesday night as newcomer Collard makes a decision on which girl he wants to couple up with.

The decision gave the personal trainer the power to split up any of the present couples, Samira and Alex, Laura and Wes, Dani and Jack, Kendall and Niall and Hayley and Eyal.

And Collard’s choice puts the other boys at risk of being dumped from the show later this week.

The aftermath from Collard’s choice has been revealed ahead of Tuesday night’s episode, despite the name of the girl being kept under wraps in the meantime.

Gathered around the fire pit, Collard revealed to the Islanders: “The decision that I've made is based on the chats that I've had.

“I've tried to get to know all of you one by one. The girl that I've decided to couple up with, from the conversations that I've had [with her], she is a good person and she definitely ticks a lot of boxes for me.”

After Collard makes his choice, he and his chosen girl are whisked away and sent on an immediate date.

Meanwhile, the newly single Islander receives a text to warn them ahead of the recoupling.

It reads: “You are now single. At the end of the week all Islanders will take part in a recoupling. The Islander not picked to be in a couple will be dumped from the Island."

Opening up about his decision in the Beach Hut, Collard says: “It's a game, you don't really want to have to play a game but you've got to do what you've got to do, especially in the villa. It's Love Island and I know what I want and I get what I want."

There will be another recoupling ceremony at the end of the week, with the only remaining single islander dumped from the island.
