Honey G has been eliminated from the X Factor 2016 by the judges.

The ‘North Weezy’ rapper was sent home in the quarter finals after coming up against 5 After Midnight in the sing-off.

It was Honey's second time in the sing-off - last week she was saved by the judges, sparking outrage from some viewers.

“This is now getting serious, and we need the four best acts next week,” argued Louis Walsh as he opted to send Honey home.

Honey G’s mentor Sharon Osbourne pleaded to the fellow judges to keep her in the competition

“Against all odds, honey has been here week after week,” she said. “She’s here, she’s a fighter, she wants this so bad. I think she’s got the edge on everyone.”

However, both Nicole Scherzinger and Simon Cowell decided it was time for Honey to leave.

“Honey G, first of all you put the fun in phenomenal,” said Scherzinger. “I’m shamazed that you’ve lasted so long, but you’ve earned my respect throughout this process.”

Cowell said: “Honey, you know where I started with you. You’ve got guts. You’ve soldiered on and on and on.

“I have to do what I think the public would expect me to do in this position. I think one of the acts has gone as far as they can go now.”

Speaking after her elimination, Honey – aka Anna Georgette Gilford – said: “I just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed working with everyone on The X Factor, including all the judges. The actual X Factor team are the most amazing people I’ve ever met.

“Everyone who said that I couldn’t make it here, I’m here right now.”

Making it through to the next round are 5 After Midnight, Saara Alto, Matt Terry, and Emily Middlemas.

During Saturday's live show, Honey G's stage was invaded by YouTube pranksters Trollstation. After her performance of MC Hammer's Can't Touch This, three people took to the stage, with one attempting to take her microphone.
