All on display at BODY WORLDS

The world's first plastinated giraffe

Already seen by more than 26 million people internationally, BODY WORLDS is an exhibition with a difference.

Anatomy, physiology and health are presented in a vivid light with real human bodies on display.

The bodies have been preserved by a process called Plastination – a groundbreaking method for preservation invented by Dr Gunther von Hagens in 1977.

BODY WORLDS & The Mirror of Time has introduced the concept to the UK. Based at The 02, it features over 200 real specimens and has a special focus on health, wellbeing and the ageing process. The effect of disease and lifestyle on the anatomy is also demonstrated through shocking exhibits. Those looking for a way to give up cigarettes may want to pay particular attention to the lungs of a smoker.

And it is not just humans that are on show. The world's first-ever plastinated giraffe and a galloping horse add to the surreal atmosphere.

One thing is for sure, you won't have seen an exhibiton like BODY WORLDS before.

BODY WORLDS & The Mirror of Time is exclusively at The O2 until August.
