The best Christmas club nights in London this weekend

Festive fun: Clapham Grand will offer Christmas anthems

'Tis the last Friday before the great exodus, and it’s time to get on it.

London’s offices are descending on the capital for their annual Christmas bash and the best bars in town are putting on their biggest festive blowouts, from snow-globe ball pit raves in Shoreditch to rooftop winter wonderland parties in Brixton.

Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills is starting the party. Tonight he’ll be taking to the decks in the roof garden at Victoria’s Cardinal Place for an après-ski-themed silent disco. Expect dance anthems, festive classics and plenty of Mariah Carey, then head to Clapham Grand for eggnog cocktails, snow machines and live performances from star guests S Club. Pop trio Jo, Tina and Bradley will be taking to the stage and bringing it back to the nineties and noughties until 3am.

The cheese-fest continues at the Prince of Wales in Brixton, which has an eighties-themed rooftop winter wonderland party, while Islington Assembly Hall’s Christmas disco ball is a seventies and eighties takeover with a festive twist. Think vinyl DJs, free retro sweets and Christmas outfits — there’s a prize for the best dressed.

At The Glory’s Christmas Party in Hoxton the theme is sexy Santa. Grab your stockings, douse yourself in glitter and spice up your December with an innuendo-filled evening of festivities hosted by drag DJ Stella Meltdown.

Nearby, three queens will be jingling Londoners’ bells at Rascals’ Christmas drag party tomorrow night, and you can have your own lip-sync battle at Winterville’s drag-themed karaoke night on Clapham Common.

Alternatively, dust off that Christmas jumper and dive into a 4,000ft golden ball pit sprinkled with snow at Ballie Ballerson in Shoreditch. It looks like a giant snow globe. There’s also festive face-painting and Christmas cocktails.

If you fancy festive food with your cocktails, there are plenty of frivolous feasts to get stuck into around town. Dig into turkey and cranberry sandwiches and hot mulled apple juice at Little Nan’s Bar’s singalong bottomless brunch in Fitzrovia on Sunday, and stop by Neverland in Fulham for bottomless mulled wine and festive pizzas.

Even more indulgent is The Greatest Snowman’s immersive dining experience in Bethnal Green. Boarding from Pedley Street station, you’ll enjoy a delicious four-course feast in a luxury carrioagecarriage as Santa Claus’s agents intercept the train — a real-life polar express.
