Plumbers Arms: Home to a lot of journos
10 April 2012

A busy one-roomed affair that's near enough to Victoria Station for in-the-know commuters, but just far enough away from the busloads of tourists to keep it manageable.

With a fair selection on tap, this one's a decent enough pub with a livelier atmosphere than you might expect from a Belgravia boozer.

It also played a small role in the Lord Lucan saga, and you'll find an old newspaper report of the case on one of the walls if you're interested in learning more about it.

We've heard rumours that this pub was on the brink of closure before the Daily Telegraph moved to its new headquarters in Victoria and adopted the place as a preferred house pub.

We haven't spotted Simon Heffer in here yet - but there are a lot of journos in here of an evening. You may or not find this off-putting, but the regular custom might just have saved the place. (Closed weekends).
