The Toy Shop - bar review

The cocktails are hit and miss at this colourful Putney bar, says Joshi Herrmann

The buzz: A brightly decorated cocktail bar attempting to bring some more colour to Putney.

The deal: Aiming for a more upmarket vibe than Be At One just down the road, it’s silly enough for SW London youngsters and just about nice enough for the area’s armies of yummy mummies. The cocktails (priced between £8.50 and £9) are hit and miss — the Play-Doh milk punch is very nice but the experimental Professor’s negroni is disastrous.

Good for: A few drinks with friends and a gentle dance when it fills up after 11pm.

Order: Play-Doh milk punch with chocolate bon bon Rum.

By the way: Every wall has a different texture, replicating the experience of a child surrounded by toys.
