Dark, moody and macho, the Gaucho Grill is a good branch of the Argentinian beef chain, where they show you what steak is all about (at a price, but cheap steaks are highly suspect). New executive chef Douglas Rodriguez isworth checking out.

Hubbub has leather sofas, tea lights, board games, a lurid fish tank... if you didn't know better you might think you were on the edges of Hoxton. The food is good, a generous mix of American diner, brunch stuff and Greek mezze. Staff are very friendly and thoughtful.

They call it Ubon by Nobu, as if it were a delectable item of couture - there's a clue as to the bill. Nobu's easterly sibling is popular with rich city boys, the food is dandy, as is the view, but it is pricey. You can eat just as well at other Japanese restaurants. I still like it though.
