Tapas bar with a fine line in squid.

Squid is a godsend to tapas bars throughout the land. As well as 'chipirones', which are grilled whole baby squid, tentacles and all, there is calamari ? la Romana - our old friend the battered, deep-fried squid ring.

In the friendly basement bar at El Andaluz - very Spanish in that a handful of locals drinking at the bar stop and stare when you venture in - squid feature as well-cooked, crisp-coated, tender-hearted morsels, and go well with some other tapas and a glass or two of wine.
