A dark new immersive dining experience is arriving in London this year.
Journey to the Underworld, from theatre and restaurant group Funicular, will see diners enjoy a three course feast in a themed environment like no other.
London’s food fans are invited to step on board a luxury train carriage at Pedley Street Station in east London before enjoying their “last meal”. Then they'll descend into the underworld, encountering the gatekeepers and demons of hell itself. Though it sounds terrifying, organisers say it'll be more reminiscent of a dark, romantic fairytale.
“Guests are invited to experience the greatest love story never told where fear, fantasy, danger and lust intertwine” Funicular say.
“Along the way, guests will do their best to outwit the seductive Gatekeeper, the hunched Harbinger, and the damnable Dark One, all the while praying that this isn't a one-way ticket.”

The menu for the event is being curated by Masterchef The Professionals finalist Louisa Ellis and participants can expect a series of delicious and locally-sourced dishes to go along with the theatrics.
Menu details have yet to be revealed, but Ellis was known for her bold flavour combinations during her time on the BBC show.
Journey to the Underworld begins on September 28 and runs until November 7. Tickets start at £53, plus a £2.65 booking fee, which can be bought here.
