If you’re an avid pop-up follower, you may have eaten James Lowe’s creations at a Young Turks night. Now you can try his exceptional, highly seasonal dishes in his Shoreditch home. Dinner is a changing set menu (five courses for £44) while lunch is à la carte. Try saddleback, served with anchovies and radishes (£15.90).

For fusion foodies: Bó drake

It’s easy to see why critics rave about this place, where East Asian flavours meet Mexican styling and American barbecue. It’s a changing menu, but look out for bo ssäm, a smoky pulled pork dish with ssamjang, a Korean spice paste (£12), and don’t miss out on the ribs with Asian barbecue sauce.

Until now you’ve had to go to Bermondsey Street to gorge on José Pizarro’s fabulous Spanish food but his third restaurant has just opened in the neatly redeveloped Broadgate Circus. As well as porky charcuterie, try rare presa Ibérica with fried peppers and roasted Jersey royals (£13.50 per 100g), plus pork meatballs or burgers.
