Rotating chef restaurant Carousel heads to Tate Modern
Marylebone’s Carousel is spreading its wings. The unique restaurant, where an open kitchen is occupied by an ever-changing host of foodie talent from near and far, is launching in a new venue for the first time.
And as new venues go, it’s a pretty big one — none other than Tate Modern.
Carousel will make itself at home on Level 9 of Tate’s Blavatnik Building, the gallery’s newest addition.
It will run in the location for three weeks from 14-30 July, hosting three different guest chefs — as yet to be announced — throughout that period, on each Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Carousel co-founder Ed Templeton said: “Our open kitchen is home to an ever-changing line-up of talented chefs from around the world who share our philosophy on what eating out should be all about: amazing cooking, friendly service, a relaxed environment and a shared experience from one table to the next. We are delighted to be bringing this to the iconic restaurant at Tate Level 9.”
Hamish Anderson, the CEO of Tate Catering, added: “It’s going to be great fun working with the Carousel team, seeing how different Chefs interpret ingredients and respond to the space. This collaboration highlights Tate Catering’s commitment to giving visitors unique experiences through food, drink and art.”
