Pop singer Katy Perry has invested in a Beverly Hills mansion.

The American star, whose hits include Chained to the Rhythm and, aptly, California Gurls, reportedly splashed out £14.8 million in an off-market deal for the five-bedroom, 5,500sq ft mansion in the Coldwater Canyon complex, a celebrity favourite.

Perry’s new place comes with an infinity pool set in designer outdoor space. She bought from Cody Leibel, son of Canadian developer Lorne Leibel. Cody stands to make a healthy profit, having paid £7.02 million in 2007.

Los Angeles-based Perry will add the home to her collection — she also owns two Hollywood Hills mansions.
