St Saviours in Knightsbridge - a major contender for London’s most extravagant church conversion – is on the market priced £44 million through estate agent Knight Frank.

Formerly the home of Alain Boublil, the librettist and lyricist behind Les Misérables and Miss Saigon, the Grade II-listed building has a swimming pool, gym, treatment room, sauna, steam room and a cinema with a bar.

The church conversion in Knightsbridge boasts 40ft-high vaulted ceilings and original stone pillars

These modern luxuries are set against an imposing backdrop of 40ft-high vaulted ceilings, oak beams, original stone pillars and stained-glass windows.

What was once the nave has become a vast drawing room.

The seven-bedroom former Anglican church has a striking bronze-and-glass lift shaft surrounded by a stone spiral staircase and linking all floors.
