Award for Standard's political coverage

Evening Standard Political Editor Joe Murphy was named Parliamentary Journalist of the Year last night at a Westminster awards ceremony.

It was presented to him by American civil rights leader the Rev Jesse Jackson at the Political and Public Life Awards sponsored by Asian Voice.

The judges said of Murphy: "His scrutiny adds much value to political commentary and this award is to commend him and to show the public's appreciation."
