Bank proposes pension mortgage

RETIRED Britons could soon be drawing a pension against the value of their home under a scheme proposed by Standard Life bank. The bank would pay an annual tax-free income to the homeowner and recover its costs by selling the home.

The bank said there was a big demand for this kind of product and is finalising plans for a pension mortgage.
