BBC staff face wait over move

BBC staff could face a year-long wait before they are told if they are being relocated out of London.

Director-General Mark Thompson plans £320million of cuts, which will mean 1,800 posts moving to Manchester and the regions. Staff at Children's BBC, Sport and Radio Five Live had expected details by March.

But unions say the cuts could be delayed if the review of the BBC's Royal Charter and funding is postponed by the general election. Bectu's Luke Crawley said: "People are getting very distressed."
