Britons injured in Costa del Sol hotel blast

Two British women are seriously ill in hospital after an explosion at a Costa del Sol hotel today.

The women, believed to be in their forties, were staying at the three-star Cortijo Blanco between Marbella and San Pedro.

An ambulance spokesman said: "Our understanding is pipes carrying hot water from a boiler have exploded and the women hit by flying shards of metal."
