Commuter's nose gnawed off

One of the most shockingly violent attacks on the Tube started as an argument over feet on seats.

A 31-year-old IT consultant who was on his way home became embroiled in a row with a fellow passenger on the Piccadilly line.

The argument became heated and his smartly dressed assailant bit him on the face, gnawing off a part of his nose.

The suspect was filmed on CCTV walking calmly along the platform of Turnpike Lane station only moments after the attack as though he did not have a care in the world.

Police have never managed to capture the attacker, despite having DNA evidence from the scene.

The two passengers had been travelling from King's Cross on the northbound Victoria line and had changed to the Piccadilly line at Finsbury Park in February last year.

The train was between Manor House and Turnpike Lane stations when the argument developed into a fight and the suspect reportedly lunged forward and bit the victim, from Stamford Hill, viciously on the nose.

The IT consultant required 19 stitches to his face.
