Exel boss joins £1m-a-year club

FREIGHT giant Exel's annual report and accounts show that chief executive John Allan picked up a total of £1.19m last year, 20% more than in 2002.

Allan received a £410,000 bonus on top of his £576,000 base salary, with the rest made up in pension and other benefits.

He has been awarded an 8.5% pay rise on his basic salary for this year.
