A lucky London football fan has won more than £16,000 by predicting a string of unlikely results in the FA Cup.

Rosie Leigh, 29, from Hackney, put a £2 bet on a five-game accumulator.

She predicted Bradford to beat Chelsea at 25/1 and Manchester City to lose to Middlesbrough at 10/1.

The fashion designer also bet on Leicester’s victory at Tottenham and Crystal Palace’s away win at Southampton.

Finally she predicted Reading would win away at Cardiff.

The football fan found out she’d won £16,087 when she was in the pub with her boyfriend, Alex Downes, 32.

The couple went to Ladbrokes to collect her winnings.

She told The Sun: “I started shaking and making everyone check the ticket about five times.

“They offered us it in cash but you don’t want to walk around my area with £16,000 in your pocket.”

Jordan Hipperson, 21, of Norwich also collected £16,000 winnings with an almost identical betting slip.

But another unlucky punter narrowly missed out on winning £1 million after placing a £10 accumulator on five games.

With four underdog selections already in the bag the gambler rejected a £15,000 offer to cash in his bet.

The unnamed punter decided to wait for the outcome of the Liverpool v Bolton match in the hope he could win £1 million, but the game ended 0-0 with him requiring a Bolton win. As a consolation Betfair offered four free bets of £1,000 for every prediction that was correct and an invite to the FA Cup final.
