German jobless total tops 4.4m

GERMANY'S May jobless figure was the worst since the country's reunification nearly 13 years ago. Official results are not out until next week but German newspapers today said the jobless total was 4.42 million, 475,000 more than a year ago. The figure is down 75,000 on April, because of seasonal factors.
