But, judging from this picture, the poncho is never likely to catch on for world leaders.

George Bush and Vladimir Putin gamely faced the cameras wearing the local garments at an economic summit in Chile.

While the American smiled and chatted with other leaders, his Russian counterpart looked like he couldn't wait to get back into his suit.

On Saturday night, President Bush waded into a scuffle that erupted when Chilean authorities blocked his Secret Service agents from accompanying him into a dinner.

As tempers flared and a shoving match ensued, Bush pushed into the commotion, grabbed his agent and pulled him inside.
