How the Tube is affected

13 April 2012

The Circle line is out of action and there are limited services on the Hammersmith and City line. Transport for London suggests these bus routes:

No 205 - Paddington to Whitechapel, via Marylebone, Euston, King's Cross and Liverpool Street.

No 705 - Paddington to Liverpool Street via Victoria, Waterloo, London Bridge and Fenchurch Street.

No 436 - Victoria to Paddington via Hyde Park Corner and Park Lane.

The AA urges travellers not to take to their cars to avoid chaos on the Tube.

It says traffic will be especially busy in west London throughout the day and that commuters should aim to use different Tube or bus routes to get to and from work.

"Routes including the M4, A4 and A40 will be heavier than usual, in particular over the Hammersmith flyover," said the AA's Rebecca Rees.
