KCS Wimbledon's glory trail has brought them success in 2008 and now the school is named the Standard's 1st XV team of the month for February.

After two early-season blips, KCS powered to 25 wins, including notable cup triumphs over Whitgift and Campion. Skippered by Guy Tyler and coached by Marcus Blackburn, they played as a strong unit with winger Gareth Stoppani scoring freely after a few seasons away from rugby to become the record points scorer for one season.

Though KCS missed out on the Daily Mail Twickenham Final when they lost to last year's winners Warwick 16-9 in the quarter-final after leading for much of the match, Blackburn was full of praise.

He said: "This year's team have surpassed expectations with only two first-team players remaining from last year. They have shown hard work and spirit throughout the cup run."
