Man blows himself up with firework
A man has blown himself up after apparently wiring himself up to large firework.
The man appears to have detonated the device shortly before the arrival of police at his home in Romford.
Nearby residents were evacuated after fears part of the building would collapse. Bomb disposal off icers searched the building.
Neighbour Dawn Davies said: "I heard a huge bang about 2am. I looked out of my window and all the windows had been blown out in the block next to mine.
"I dialled 999 and when the emergency services arrived they began herding people out of the building and wrapping them in blankets. Then the bomb disposal unit went in. It was very frightening."
