Man charged over hoax bomb calls

A man has been charged with making hoax bomb calls to several airports, police said today.

The man from Pontypridd, south Wales, is alleged to have made the bogus calls to various airports overnight between Sunday 20 July and Monday 21 July 2003.

He is accused of making 12 calls to various airports including Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff and Glasgow, as well as to BBC Bristol.

He is due to appear at North Somerset Magistrates Court on August 13.
