Men guilty of burning girl with acid in sex assault

THREE men have been found guilty of raping a girl and then burning her by throwing acid in her face.

The three rapists subjected the 16-year-old with learning difficulties to the two-hour ordeal on 9 January. The girl had arranged to meet a man she knew to have sex with him in the hope of being liked. Instead she was met by Rogel McMorris, 18, whom she did not know, and he, Jason Brew, 19, and Hector Muaimba, 20, took her to an unoccupied house in Tottenham.

There they raped her and threw caustic soda in her face.

The police were called by a neighbour who heard her screams. She was taken to hospital with more than 50 per cent burns to her body. She is permanently scarred and still needs treatment.

After yesterday's conviction investigating officer Dc Alex Newton said: "These men preyed on a vulnerable girl. Their attitude in court has been disgusting. Some of them have been laughing and sniggering. They have no respect for anyone and I'm delighted at the convictions."

At Wood Green crown court McMorris, of Tottenham, was convicted of two counts of rape and GBH, Brew, also of Tottenham, one count of rape, and Hector Muaimba, of Walthamstow, also one count of rape. They will be sentenced next month.
