Pants to Valentine's...

Men are saying pants to Valentine's Day

Take a close look. In the run up to Valentine's Day there are love hearts just about everywhere. From shop windows and restaurants to TV adverts and newspaper columns. So that must make us all suckers for the big day itself, right? Well, yes... and no!

This is London asked 500 users what they thought of Valentine's Day and the resounding result was - it's a rip off!

Three quarters of all the men surveyed and well over half of all women thought it was a scam. But despite dissing the whole thing, that doesn't stop us from buying cards and treating loved-ones.

Our survey revealed that 53% would spend between £20-£100 on a Valetine's gift, with 13% preparing to dig deep and fork out up to £500 on something special.

But a few people out there can expect something big, perhaps even sparkly that sits on a ring finger, as 1% revealed they will be spending over £1,000... Not expecting a proposal?

The most popular gift is a card, followed by a romantic meal for two. And sadly, despite our respondents adventurous sex lives, it seems men aren't prepared to take a chance and buy sexy lingerie. Only 9% of the respondents will be shopping for undies. So that really is pants to Valentine's!
