£75m jewels seized after Paris arrests

Designer jewellery worth about £75 million has been recovered after the arrest of 36 men and women thought to be behind one of the biggest gem heists ever.

Paris police raided a number of addresses. They were investigating December's robbery of the Harry Winston boutique near the Champs-Elysées when four armed men, two disguised in drag, stormed in. Detectives feared that dozens of others were involved.

Celebrity jeweller Harry Winston was in the Marilyn Monroe song Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend.
