Royal Mail to axe 3,000 jobs

13 April 2012

THE Royal Mail is to cut up to 3,000 managers' jobs under plans to reduce costs and improve efficiency, it was announced today.

The cutback will involve non-operational managers across the business, including the Post Office, Royal Mail and Parcelforce.

Volunteers for redundancy will be sought and the jobs are expected to be lost by next March.

The 3,000 jobs are among 30,000 posts being cut as part of a three-year renewal programme.
