Sarah Payne killer attacked in prison

Paedophile Roy Whiting, killer of eight-yearold Sarah Payne, had his face slashed with a blade last night by a fellow inmate at top security Wakefield Prison in West Yorkshire.
Whiting had the wound stitched in hospital following the attack on a communal landing, and was returned to his cell within three hours. The blade narrowly missed his eye. Police were quizzing inmates today. Whiting, 42, of Littlehampton in West Sussex, was jailed for life in December for Sarah's kidnap and murder.
