Stars lend their voices to Tate animated movie project

Taking part: Miranda Hart is among the stars adding their voices to the project
12 April 2012

An all-star cast headed by David Walliams, Miranda Hart and Catherine Tate has signed up to voice the Tate animated movie project, which has characters created by Britain's children.

Thousands were engaged in the processes of film-making to create the 30-minute The Itch of the Golden Nit, attending workshops that were part of the Cultural Olympiad - the Olympics arts programme.

The story has 11-year-old hero Beanie go on a mission to save his parents from Evil Stella and return the Golden Nit to its rightful place at the heart of the sun, so saving the universe.

Final words and pictures were crafted by Aardman Animations, the Oscar-winners behind Wallace & Gromit, and the film's Leicester Square premiere is on June 29.
