The 2017 events sure to make the headlines throughout the new year

2017 has just started, but there is already an array of events sure to make the headlines over the next 12 months.

On January 20, Donald Trump will officially become the President of United States, after an iconic election, which saw him defeating Hillary Clinton last November.

In February, all eyes will be on pop queens Adele and Beyonce, who will be battling it out at the Grammy Awards. Both singers are nominated in Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Album categories. The winners will be unveiled on February 12.

March’s headlines are likely to be about Brexit, with many still doubting if Prime Minister Theresa May will be able to trigger article 50 on time of the March 31 deadline.

In July, Sir Andy Murray returns to Wimbledon courts, having won the same tennis competition both in 2013 and 2016.

From August 4-13, the IAAF World Championships will be held at London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The event will see stars like Usain Bolt and Mo Farah competing in various sports.
