Tube power staff walk out over pay

Tube union bosses have ordered Christmas walkouts by staff who maintain the power supply.

The strikes, in a dispute over pay, could reduce the number of trains able to run.

The RMT union has told 100 EDF Energy Powerlink engineers not to work from 8pm on Tuesday to 8am on Christmas Eve. Further action may take place in the 12 hours from 8pm on Boxing Day.

Transport for London said: "We are confident that this action does not present a significant risk to the operation of the Underground."
